So here we are, the End of another 2 weeks. 2 more transfers and I'll
be out of double digits with planners I have left. That's legit!
So I'll get right to the point (what, no joke this week? how boring -
he's boring now). So Momo (that person going to be baptized in
september, the 25th) is still awesome. She reads, understands, and is
coming to church alot. Hopefully she's going to be ontrack, but you
know Satan sending his hailstorms and whirlwinds to mess us up
(Helamen 5:12). We'll see what happens.
And funny story of the week: according to what the Florida 2nd branch
Believes, Vegetarians are sinners. Here's how it happened:
So we were at the Mormon Helping Hands project, right, and we're
planting some plants for this Day Care so they can teach the kids how
to work, plant, then eat fruit and veg. Good, right? Well it is, why
did you doubt your answer? Anyways, so after, we are eating some fruit
as our rewards for it. Then they somehow bring up meat and veg, and
the first thing that was super funny was the second me or Elder
Avarell made a comment they took it as doctrine. We could have said
"You can only eat meat on tuesday" and they would have believed it.
So, as we sit there and talk about it, Elder Avarell brings up a
scripture in D & C that says basically those who don't eat meat are
not of God, or that's how they took it. So now an Entire Branch
believes that vegetarians are sinners.... Eish. Not our best moment.
Other than that, it was just another week. We're going by soweto today
to get some items from home, so it's gonna be fun to go shopping for
those super cheep statues!
Hope you all are safe and well, I'll send some photos home next week
because this computer is Jack, yo!
...speaking of which, shout out to my cousin Jack for making it through mission!
See you guys in a year in a half, message you next week!

Another week has gone by...
So with this past week I went on 2 exchanges (switching companions for 24 hours) and it was my first time to leave Florida in nearly 3 months. I have to say it was super nice to go to Township again. Don't get me wrong, town is nice where everyone washes hands and there's food places out the wazoo, but township people have such a nice humble feel to them.
The first was on Tuesday. It was nice to go with the Amazingly funny Zone Leader named Ratsimbizafy. He's one of my favourite Elders here. We had a blast rolling through the township teaching all of their investigators and even giving a priesthood blessing. Then we went over to their dinner appointment and I got to see him get sjamboked by the 19 yr old for almost being late. That girl had so much sass, I swear! I couldn't stop laughing.
Then I went to Soweto, the biggest township in Africa. I got to have another Kota while I was there, but I made sure to stick to only just one. I will not be getting chubby cheeks, no way! Also got to teach the stake president's mom while I was there. That was pretty legit.
Then I came back to florida. I love florida, don't get me wrong. This area is awesome and cool, I just don't feel like I'm in africa anymore while I'm here. Township and village is where you really get a feel for what Africa is like.
So anyways, Momo (that super powerful investigator incase you didn't remember because you didn't read last weeks email. You break my heart for every email you don't read) accepted a date to be baptized on. It's gonna be super cool for some Elders down the road who baptize her. I don't think I'm going to be around for it though. I just have that feeling.
Anyways, so I also heard some legends about other missionaries who have been here. It's always nice to hear the stories of those elders before me.
Here I am in Africa still. I can not believe it's already been 7 months. Time flies. I've said it a million times before, and I'll say it a million times after. Mission really does fly. I can't believe it.
Also, if you guys wanna keep me posted on the Olympics, I would love you forever. no joke. I gotta know how the BACK TO BACK WORLD WAR CHAMPIONS are doing.
Also, here's a ton of pictures incase you were missing me.
I'll be home in no time it seems. This mission can't slow down either from what I can tell.
Stay awesome everyone. Don't die. And eat Tacos. Tacos don't exist here. I know, it's depressing.
So today hurt, ALOT...
So once upon a time, I got covered in Paint.... I'll get to that.
So this week was pretty cool. We went to a Area Seventy's home because he lives in the Ward.... *That's not terrifying at all.* Nah, he was super cool and we got to just share a small message with him and his family. Elder Mdleshe or something along those lines of how you spell it... Yeah.
Also, so We got to visit a ton of Member Families this past week.... Mainly because I hate towns but that's not the point. It was fun to sit down with the members and just say hi and what not..... I also fixed a LOCKY Virus that was on a Senior Couples computer, because I'm a BOSS!!!!!
...and I had google.... Yeah. Still, I got rid of a computer Virus. In Africa. Yeah. Not really cool I guess..... Man I'm a loser.....
Continuing though, this week that Super Powerful Investigator, Momo, was at church!!!! That was Legit. Like, it literally made my week! Also there was some one there named, I KID YOU NOT, Imbruce. That is his name. I swear on my missionary career. Yeah. They are both super awesome and we will be teaching them some more till they are baptized or lock their doors.... we'll see which comes first.
I also got to see the JW center for Africa.... yeah, totally didn't T.P. it, I swear...... yet.....
It's in this town called Krugersdorp (or KrugersDOPE.... I kid because I am still under 20). It's the most American Part of South Africa. It's Super nice and has nice places to eat.... it's just in a different zone, which sucks. One day I want to tour the JW place... and leave passalong cards everywhere..... yep.
So back to today: why was I covered in Paint? Well we paintballed as a Zone of course! It was our Zone against the other zone,
Sowete vs Roodepoort.
AND IT HURT!!!! It was so much fun. And you hear that Kimbles? Don't be thinking I'm going out of practice. I'll come home shooting just fine.
Alright, that's my story for the week See you next week.
I love all of you guys!
This place is getting more like home...
So this last week was funny. Yes I'm being straight forwards with it, deal with it.
So me and Elder Avarell were walking around contacting yesterday. We stopped a man who just got home and was closing his gate. He was super nice and super mean at the same time. He was the nicest mean guy I've ever met. He told us to F off, called us Irish, then we said we were from America and he opened the gate to invite us in for cold drink (soda). He never yelled, never got mad, just was super honest, super nice and super mean. I can't but laugh at him.
Also, JW's know the church very well here and actually have a class on "How to Bash with Elders"... Yeah. Love this country. This is why I have "75 question's Jehovah's Witnesses don't like to be asked." Yeah, they fear missionaries here, just because they try and out scripture us. I'll leave it at that.
Also, the members here in Florida haven't had Elders visit them in a long time. That's just super sad, but we were super excited to visit with them.
Also had a super not fun time this week and a super awesome time this week. I'll start with the bad.
So we visited this less active family in this place called Fleurhof (you just try and say it. I will buy you lunch when I get home if you do it infront of me) So we went in and this lady was super nice but wanted to give us back all of her church stuff. Something had happened in the past that the whole family left the church. It really broke my heart to read her super old book of mormon with a personal message from the ELder that gave it to her. Broke my heart bad....
Then we also saw an investigator named Momo. She's the most monotone person on earth. You could have a song that only uses middle c on a piano and she is still more monotone than that. But she read the first three chapters of the book of mormon and accepted to be baptized. And when I say read, I mean she read details and went for a understanding. She might not have seemed excited, but she also wond 2 competitions and got free money and her tone and face never changed.... yeah.
*Oh, and there was this placed called Krespy Kremes. I'm not sure if they have it back home, but some of my district went to the opening today....*
That's my week. Peace!!!
"The Time is Far Spent"
...has become a favourite hymn of mine. It's all too true while looking back on where I am now. My last Companion said that at 7 months I'll know how long 2 years is... I don't believe him. The time has flown!
So this past week there was a ANC Rally for the Nelson Mandela Political party. Most people looked at the crowd and just walked off. Me and Elder Broadhead (An elder That knows Ty Palmer, surprise!) saw it as potential and they gave us ANC Flyers and we were handing out pass along cards. THAT'S HOW WE ROLL!!!!! It was legit.
So This past week we spent alot of time finding people, or in other words: Talking to every person in sight. We'll see what fruit that bears.
Also, so it's just a tad bit hard now because all the people that we visited when I came in are now baptized or not interested. Bummer for me but that's fine, more people to find!
Sister Thembi is doing way better too, just as an update. Yeah. That's all. Deal with it.
I look back at the time, and I can't believe I've been in Africa for so long, yet feel like I just got here. People say time goes fast, and it's true. You miss it when it goes by. I want to get home just to tell the stories in person, yet I don't want to leave because this feels like home....
Also I bug my companion because I teach in my sleep sometimes. Yeah, I teach about Jesus in my sleep.... Be ready always I guess.
Anyway, here's a picture of a poster thing that's been in the flat who knows how long. And Here's Elder Avarell. The California boy.
OH, I ALSO LEARNED THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SO CAL AND NO CAL PERSON!!!!
That's all I got. This week was kinda boring for us.
Skis, nie?
(Sorry)
Stay Well, and eat Tacos. Tacos don't exist here.
What a WEEK!!
First off, Elder Avarell is my New Companion incase you didn't read last weeks email. If you didn't read last weeks, why not? Did I get boring?
So this last week as we were going out and visiting people, one of the Recent converts we visited was going through a super hard time. She broke into tears seconds after we asked here how she was doing. She had here children come down to visit with her for winter break (yes I said that right, it's Flipping COLD down here!) and her Grandmother no longer wants them to stay with her. She was in tears most of the time, and the whole time she was talkng I couldn't but feel the prompting to offer her a blessing of Comfort and Council. During it, i had tears streaming down my face from the spirit that was felt. After wards, she was calm and happy.
...and no I'm not a wuss, My eyes were just so focused that the stress caused them to sweat. While I had a breathy voice. And felt love. Yeah.
Also, me and Elder Avarell nearly Died 3 times in one night trying to find our dinner appointment on Friday. Yeah, he's a California driver with a stick shift.... yeah. It was Fun!
But when we got there, I was super surprised to see Sister Ramagwe (spelling) there. She was My districts MTC teacher. She's in my ward. (By the way, Moroni District, she says Hi!). It was awesome to see here and her return Missionary Fiance. They are going to be married super soon, and it was nice to show her how I've grown in 6 months.
Anyways, those are my stories for the week. The church is still true, I'm still an Elder, and Also JW's hate my guts. It's fun to be a missionary!!!!!
-Elder Parker T Schenpf
My 4th was... Lame
We didn't get to play sports. We didn't get to party at all. It was super lame. I'm glad y'all had a ton of fun back home though.
But it was an amazing week. Saw a super powerful Lady named Adphil. We came up to her and she immediately loved us because we weren't Jehovah's Witnesses. She will always have a place in my heart because of that. She's super ready to accept the Gospel, we just need to get her to read the book of Mormon.
Speaking of that, we've been going to a bible study group for the past 3 weeks now. I can not tell you how much this pastor said "Praise the Lord" or "Praise God".... I tell you if I had a Rand for every time he said it I'd have enough to not only take me through 2 years but to also buy my own ticket home.... Needless to say it was full of Vain Repetition. He used Christ's name as a period. Super sweet family man though with 3 kids. He accepted the Book of Mormon as a gift and is going to read it.
Also, I gave a blessing of comfort and council to a member named Dumizani. I literally had a heart attack at what I said. He was going to pretoria to get some paperwork for his ID, and with the blessing I gave him It sounded as if I was preparing him for war.... I prayed super hard for him needless to say. He's super fine though, which is awesome.
So my super amazing companion Elder Campbell is going to move on to be a ZL, which means I'll still be here in florida. I really can't wait to see how well he does, but I'm gonna miss him. I'm gonna miss him saying "I love you" every night and me saying "don't be gay". we got along super well.
I have only been companions with DL's though, which either I suck or that President Dunn is preparing me for something big.....
So Needless to say 6 months has flown!!!!! I'll be home tomorrow, just you watch. It's gonna be 2 years before you guys know it.
I love you all.
Elder Schnepf
Happy 4th EVERYONE!!!!!
...also, this is the week I turn 6 officially on mission. It's on Thursday. just FYI
So this week was super hectic. First, this is the last week of the transfers. DAY of REVELATIONS is on Saturday. Super not excited. I love Florida and Elder Campbell. The members are super nice, there's a ton of work to do, and I just enjoy the fact that I don't need to polish my shoes daily... kidding.
So this last week was just visiting people from Florida and Soweto (the biggest township in the world). Florida is awesome because it's just full of life and there's always something to do, but soweto is just like a township: Always stuff to do and people to see. It's unlike any other place I've visited so far, and also Soweto is where Nelson Mandela lived. I've seen his house (very nice BTW), and I'll get pictures of it when I can. It's just hard to take pictures in a place where everyone is looking at you, that's all. If I ever come back here after my mission, It'll be the first place I visit. It's super cool.
Other than that, Walking around and teaching people is still super fun. There was a High councilman from the Benoni Stake that I followed from Etwatwa to here, which is pretty cool. His family is super sweet, but saddly they live just outside of the Florida area. We gave them to the Roodeport Elders, where good Old Elder Reid ended up. It's nice to see him around every now and then, especially since we are in different zones.
Other than that, I nearly die yesterday. Three dinner appointments in one night.... needless to say I barley could move last night when we got home. This is a blessed area, that's for sure. If I didn't work out, I'd have stretch marks I swear.
This last week is gonna be legit though, because we have a baptism on Sunday, it's the 4th today, and I'll burn my Tie on thursday in honour of Elder Schnepf the Senior AKA my Father. It's gonna be a good week.
So that's my report everyone! Stay well, stay safe, eat a ton of food on this blessed day!!!! And Pray always.
Elder Schnepf, signing off.
-Schnepf
You know it's quick when your companion Reminds you about P-day Eve...
Holy Cow, time flies. It's like I just had a P-day and here it is again. These years are way to short.... way.
Anyhow, so this past week was Hectic. This was the first week of us Actually covering 4 units... Oh my Begeebers this is alot of people to visit! Never the less, I wouldn't change it for the world. Kancane kancane (little by little) we'll get this down. Also, there's 2 weeks left in this transfer.... Way too quick.
So this morning we spent three hours with the home manager, Elder Well's, fixing things broken in the flat.... yeah. I felt like it was a saturday with my dad again. It was a good feeling to do stuff like that. My companion was bored but I was loving it up until I realized I'd email late this week..... oh well, this week was worth the wait.
So I keep forgetting to email that my companion works out with a chair every night... sounds ridiculous, but look at the results. This guy is a freaking tank!!!! (Also, I cut his hair. I'm a boss, I know.)
Anyways, so this week was just back and forth between areas: From a township to a town. I'm running all over the place! But at least it's busy work: I don't want to get fat.....
So for the most part It's just visiting people. Recent Converts, Less active, and this one person who will be baptized the day after her wedding. Ratebile is her name. She's awesome and is marrying a member, so it'll be my first wedding on mission. Two weeks from now it'll be a cool thing!
For the most part, Town isn't that bad. Either I'm in a super nice area or Elder Campbell is a great guy. I love this place. I wonder how weird it'll be for me to go home and not see an electric fence on every single house... (don't touch em, take it from me).
That's my report for the week. I hope you all are staying well. I know I am!
I'm Alive, and they have rootbeer here!
Yes Sir, I was a happy camper. But I'll get to that.
First, on Saturday I was on an exchange with the Zone leader and we get a call from Brother Pise. He tells us that his wife's relative has asked for a blessing and wants to investigate the church. We head on over there immediately. She is from Zim., and she said she wants a blessing and to know more about the church. She picks me to give the blessing, and the reason she wants this blessing is because she just had brain surgery to remove a tumor and now she can't see. She picks me to do the blessing and Elder Ratsibmzafy to anoint. After he anointed, I began the blessing and I can not tell you the words that came out of my mouth. The Spirit put the words into my mouth, and I told her she would be fully healed, that she would be able to find the church in her home, and a great many other things that I can't say. After the blessing, she told me it was as if I knew her and told her exactly what She needed to hear. There was power in that blessing, and the Spirit is the one who gave it. I was just the mouth.
I can not begin to explain to say how much I love being here. I truly was called by a Prophet of God to come to this blessed land of many colours. It's amazing what a mission can do for you. Some days are hard, that's a given, but most days are hard work that I love to do. The Spirit is my guide, Christ is my Master, and Heavenly Father has shown His love to His people and I get the opportunity to be one of the ways He shows it.
Elder Campbell is a Cali boy and I'm learning alot from this Elder. I truly am loving mission, and I can't wait to get home to be able to share with all of you the experiences that I am having.
For now though, I want to tell you this country is still pretty awesome. I'm blessed to learn a different culture and to get to bring some of it home with me to show all of you that as well.
Here's some pictures of Cow head, my companion, and us being goofy. Love all of you guys. Stay safe and well!
-Elder Parker T Schnepf
Forgive me, there was a bear.
Not really, I'm kidding. This email shop does not have the best computers, so I need to keep this really short, sadly.
So the power cut during emailing yesterday, thus why I'm sending this today. And I'm still alive and well (at least I think I'd now if I'm alive.... I think).
So Just to summarize this week:
-I see my breath when I wake up in the morning
-We are now covering three areas... We got this
-My companion is now the District leader, I'll explain next week
-My pictures are awesome buy this computer.....
-I had cow head and tongue: wasn't bad.
I'm alive. I'm well. I got an awesome story to tell you guys next week.
-Elder Schnepf
The Lord has blessed me this Mission
My companions have been getting more and more obedient. My current one is named Elder Campbell. He has already white-washed 2 areas, opened 2 areas, and re-trained an elder. He's 9 months on mission. this guy is powerful. The area we are currently in is a place called Florida. It's a town and it's actually the MTC/Mission Office Area. I'm at the mission office almost every day now. It's nice, but people are stubborn here. There's Jehovah's Witnesses, and they just scare everyone off. But we get fed almost every day here... Looks like it's back to the pushups every morn with the Sit-ups.
So I came in with a baptism that was way prepared for this previous sunday. It went pretty swell and it was awesome because the Kid's name is Bless and he was baptized by his uncle who was baptized himself in Feb. It was truly a "Bless"ing to see the looks on their faces.
Also, this place has a ward and a branch which we cover both. In other words, that's 5 hours of church on Sunday. To my loving brother and sisters: I will Sjambok you if I hear you complain about church again. Go look it up. it's not pleasant.
So that aside, I really do love going and meeting two different units. The people are super nice, but I still miss Etwatwa. That's were I was born a missionary. It's such a nice place. But Florida is powerful and I look forwards to teaching here. Also; they don't have Kota here. Praise the sun, thank Heavens, or how ever you want to say it. That means my face wont get any fatter.
Sorry I have no pictures this week: nextweek for sure.
Stay safe everyone.
-Elder Schnepf
PS
I did make enchiladas with a package I got from home. It was amazing. Send more cream of mushroom soup. Elder Shamanga loved them so much as well.
and i'm out of jolly ranchers. Just saying. Love to everyone!
Shout out to Wesley Castro. just because.
So I'm going to Florida.....
So Last P-day was super interesting... we went to a ghetto snake park... yebo, it's quite.... questionable. But hey, I got to have an anaconda nearly choke me to death! (kidding, don't come here mom, I'm fine). It was pretty awesome zone activity, mainly because I got to go to a super nice checkers (basically Target, because forget walmart).
This last week was awesome at finding investigators, and getting them to Church. It was an awesome week! ...and I have to leave such an awesome place... as a Missionary I was born here in Etwatwa and I don't want to leave it. It was so hard, but I was able to get a bunch of pictures with the people. I also was able to get the super special people sign a journal I bought so I will never forget them. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to South Africa even just to visit this one township I've grown to call home.
Anyhow, it was super cool to drive around because I know this area like the back of my hand... that being said I just found a scar on there I don't know how it got there either...
And actually, before I forget, one family threw me a going away party basically. Yo it was super sad, and they all wanted to hug me. The Elder hand-shake was all I could give, because... well not gonna lie I don't like hugs to begin with and it's against the white bible. It was super cool though!
It seems that I really have a big heart, because I'm gonna miss these families. I just want two weeks to pass already so I can love the people in my next area already... Oh, and me and Elder Reid are finally going to be leaving the same district.
One powerful thing that one of the members told me to do before I leave is to read Alma 48:17 and to replace Moroni's name with my name and read it. I'd suggest all of you do the same.
Anyway, here's enough pictures to last you a transfer... Kidding. (Macy don't kill me). These are the people I've grown to love and here's be and a snake.
Can't wait to write you next week. PEACE!!!!!

The Hardest thing about being an Elder...
Is leaving the people you've come to love. I don't want to leave Etwatwa yet, but it's about time for me to head out and to another area.... Transfers are next tuesday yet I can already feel it in my gut that this is the time for me to leave... and it sucks.
Me and Elder Shamanga have been going out tracking last week and apparently we had some of the highest lessons in the whole mission last week... We've been working hard to build up our teaching pool so that we can start teaching some serious investigators. I love this work. I love showing people the Gospel. I hate when they reject it because I know how it will bless their lives and hey wont even give it a chance.... The hardest thing about being a missionary is having your heart broken by people you've come to love. This Week on SAJM: Elder Schnepf Edition....

So This Was A Nice Week
Look how cute he is!!!! We love getting pictures from our Elder!!!
So this week we got to do something called the Mormon helping hands... In other words we did service this week and I can not tell you how much I miss sneakers. These shoes are some of the greatest things on earth!
So what We did was we were cleaning a fire station here in Etwatwa. It was really fun to be able to go out and do those things. We picked up trash, swept all the dirt, and even got some awesome pictures like I added below. It was super fun to hang out with the awesome members of the first branch and it was super cool to were P day clothes for 3 hours! It was really nice.Once Upon A Time, My Trainer Is Leaving...
...and yeah, transfers are tomorrow. Elder Eki will not be my companion come tomorrow morning. He's done his job as my trainer, it's time for Elder Shamanga to come see how he did. I'll miss Elder Eki's Spaghetti, but for the most part I think it's just time to become a non-greeny Elder. I'll see him again, he goes home next year July.
And I currently am a tad/lot sick. Turns out I get sick every time it becomes winter, no matter what part of the world I am in. That being said, I'm a-ok to go out and teach. Don't worry, I'm a trooper.
So no pictures this week because the cord I use is in elder Eki's suitcase... Time to by one for myself.
So speaking of pictures, I was in the most Ghetto hospital I have ever seen. I won't say it's name, but I will say if I need medical care..... well Heaven is a nice place. Me and Elder Eki were there to go visit a member who was admitted. He has had a sickness for over 2 months now and this second hospital trip finally pushed everything out of his system. We visited him and had an Amazing lesson on Priesthood. Then I shaved his beard. apparently I have become a barber now because I know how to cut my hair, so says elder Eki.... and I do a pretty good job if I say so myself... (And with that statement it looks like I'm ready to get a sjambok of the Spirit).
Speaking of that word, so You can go look up what a Sjambok is, but just know apparently children here fear that word/action.... and I know say that Elder Holland has the Priesthood Key to sjambok.
Other than that, it was a nice week. Elder Eki gave his farewell talk to one of the branches, we ate at the Dladla's, visited everyone and took pictures with them. It was a nice Sunday.
It seems that the longer I'm here the more I forget about thingsat home until monday. I guess that's a good thing. I love receiving emails, but I guess I just like hearing from everyone more.
Anyhow, Tuesday I'll have a new companion, so I'll tell you all about him next week.
Elder Candland: Congratulations. I can't wait to hear more from you. (Shout out to him).

Stay well
